Spoon is a new, student-run food magazine for college students dedicated to making food more than just sustenance. Our mission is to open college students’ eyes to cooking and everyday food in a way that’s relatable, accessible, entertaining and delicious. We’re here to provide students with the tools they need to eat well at home and in the dining halls, seek out new restaurants, maintain a healthy lifestyle and, most importantly, to care about the food they eat.
All of the dishes you see on this website are made and photographed (and eaten) by Northwestern University students. Since we are college students ourselves, we create and adapt recipes to suit college kids’ needs. We’re starting with the basics and working our way up from there.
Stay connected with the online edition of our magazine, which is updated daily, and keep your eye out for the print issues coming to NU every quarter!

What a fantastic idea. The web site is very reader friendly, artistic, and informative – thoroughly inviting. Pictures of groups cooking makes your message clear – that any group of students, large or small, can enjoy the activity and reap the pleasure of producing delicious nourishing food in good company.
I’ll be on the lookout for next month’s online edition.
